I use the word legal with bold and italics since it’s illegal to make copies to distribute and sell. However, did you know that it’s perfectly legal to make back up copies? Oh yes, you can make back up copies and then store the originals away for safe keeping. Not a bad idea eh?

Here’s the tricks of the trade. Follow these steps and you won’t go wrong!

Before you rush out, buy some blank DVDs and start burning, there are a few things you need and a few things you need to do first.

Checklist:

1. Do you have a DVD burner? If no, go and buy one (doesn’t need to be state of the art).

2. Do you have game DVD burner software? If not, don’t worry, you can sort this in a jiffy by purchasing some software to enable you to make copies.

Now, to copy your games after you’ve installed the software simply follow the on-screen instructions the software came with. Next you need to place your original disk into the DVD tray and produce an image of the disk. Don’t worry if this sounds too technical, if you follow these instructions you’ll have a back-up copy within minutes.

Once you’ve produced an image of the disk on your hard drive, place the blank disk into the tray (DVD burner) and again, follow the instructions to burn that image onto the back up disk. You should find that this will take a few minutes.

Believe it or not, that’s it. That’s how simple the process of copying Xbox 360 games legally. You can now do anything you want with the copy disk, such as using it for coffee mug mat, Frisbee, and letter opener. You’ve got the idea? You can do this to copy Xbox 360 games as well as other consoles too!

As you’re probably aware, the price of video games has literally hit the roof and it’s hard enough to buy these games especially new ones. It’s also so easy to scratch and damage your games many of you would like to know how to backup and make identical copies of your original games. Take a look below and I’ll show you.

First the legalities:

Did you know that it is completely and totally legal for you to burn and make copies of games you already own? So many people are unaware of this fact and think that if they make a copy that they are somehow  violating copyright laws. You’ll be happy to know that this isn’t so. It is however, illegal to burn these copies to sell and distribute for profit and that’s definitely  not what this article is all about.

What You Need To Get Started:

DVD burner (either internal or external)

Gaming DVD burning software

Now, first things first, Have you have ever burned a CD on your computer before and do you know the process to use? I’m hoping you’ve answered YES because the good news is the process is very similar to that. The main thing that’s different I might add is the software you’re using. You’re not going to be able to copy your xbox 360 games using the existing software your PC came with I’m afraid and try as you may this simply ain’t happening. You actually need game copying software. This specific software comes equipped with all the goodies and features that’ll allow it to bypass copyright protection guards that are placed on video games.

Once you have the software in your grubby little hands the only thing missing is some blank DVD disks. I’m sure there’s a local computer hardware store near or even try purchasing these on-line. In fact it’ll probably be cheaper for you to purchase them on-line. The vast majority of software out there is really user-friendly and easy to use

Simply load the game you want to copy into your DVD burner and fire the software. This will now make an image of the the original game on your computer hard drive. Kind of like a digital signature.
